A Belated Group Thank-You!

Greetings Typospherians!

As per my usual, I wanted to thank those who have added me to their blogrolls. I recently discovered that I had missed thanking seven of you; shame on me! Therefore, I would like to thank:

The Right Reverend Theodore Munk
Cheryl Lowry
Bill M
Maschinegeschrieben
Mark
michaeliany
Nat

Since there are so many of you guys to thank, my e-card to you all, so to speak, is some photos of the Adler that just crossed my threshold this morning and some of my motorcycle. Thank you all so very much; it really means a lot to me, and enjoy the photos!

With sincere and hearty thanks!

-Anna.

  1. Sweet bike!

I just got an Adler myself, a bigger machine called a Special that I don't know much about. It will eventually appear on my blog.

    1. Thank you! She's a much different looking beastie than when I bought her, a year ago next month!

I'm looking forward to seeing your Special! I don't know much about this Adler either, aside from the fact it's a J3, the case needs some work, it came from a smoker's home (before it reached Goodwill) and it works well and has an interesting, small typeface. Once it's good and aired out and cleaned, I'll do a typecast with it. It did come with a manual, which I thought was kind of awesome, as I always love getting those with or for machines I have.

    1. Thank you, Mark, and that's awesome! Do you have a photo of it posted?

  3. I do not know which I like better, the bike or the J3.
I found the Adler J3, J4 and J5 to be greatly under rated by most. I really like mine. Fine typing feel and the smoothest carriages of all the machines in my collection including the Facit TP1 (which needs a good cleaning).

  4. Thank you Bill! One thing I can say about both is that they are precision machines. The J3 has a smooth action and easy keystrikes; I think I'm really going to enjoy typing with her! She came with all kinds of goodies, too. We've already managed to be unintentionally abusive though; she now has a couple gouges on the front below the spacebar. *Cries* I think we can clear it and buff it out. And we have a brush handle that needs superglued now as well. It's been a painfully clumsy night. x.x

  5. Quite a nice machine! Those Germans and their fantastic typewriters...Glad to see you picked one up for yourself.
I do not have an Adler in my collection just yet. Waiting for the right machine and the right price, you know? I don't know a single thing about motorcycles, but I know there is also a Triumph motorcycle (I see them on American Pickers). The logo on the motorcycle looks near exactly like that on the Triumph typewriter. I have not yet read into if they are related, but if they are I am sure that Robert has done a post on it already.

    Congrats on the find!

    1. Thank you Ken! I can't wait to start using her; I think she's going to be a fantastic machine. It looks like her former owner really cared for her. I'll let you know what I think when I really do some typing on her, but I think I'll end up highly recommending one!

Aren't Erika's German? I have one of those on the way as well.

I love Triumph motorcycles! If only I could afford one...I doubt there is a connection between the bikes and the typers (also wouldn't mind having one of those) but it would be interesting to find out. You never know!

  6. I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner but just so you know, I've also decided to add you to my typosphere roll.

There's been a number of new typewriter blogs of late and it's a bit of a challenge to keep up with all, but I will be visiting A.R.M.S. more often.

    Cheers,
    TON S

  7. How did I miss this post? Greetings fellow 2 wheeler!

Nice little Adler. I have a gabby 25 which is very similar, but I don't use her very often.

We need to get together and ride... Typers strapped firmly on the backs of our bikes, and just cruise and write. The Easy rider beatnicks.

    1. Haha, howdy there! I saw your post on Kermit, the fastest Hermes in the world and I just loved your bike!

One day, I will put my Vulcan on a cargo ship and head down under to do a road-trip of the outback. When I do, you will absolutely be the first to know! Now, which typer to take...?

      Easy rider beatnicks! Love it!
