For Those of You Wondering Where I've Been...

Salutations Typospherians,

That's right, a kitten has decided to take over my keyboard. Her name is Ophelia and she just arrived here. While she's not the only reason for my recent silence, she is one of them. Especially when she does what she's doing in the photo above. Expect to see her from time to time!

Also have a couple announcements to make: I had to turn captcha back on,because I was simply getting too much spam to deal with. My sincere apologies. I hate it as much as you do, but I see no other solution at this point. Also, I will most likely not be blogging for the entire month of November, due to NaNo. I want to throw all of my time and attention into the completion of the challenge. I will see you December 3rd! (I'll be here until 10/30, however). And I do have new machines I need to photograph and tell you all about, so that will be forthcoming.

Kitties are weapons...of cuteness!

Anna.

  1. It's dangerous to go alone! Take this!!

You needed to install a cat for NaNo

    1. I completely agree! I figure she can do all of those helpful cat assistant things, like sitting on on my manuscript or chewing it up and generally distracting me. If I'm on a keyboard for what she believes is too long, she lets me know! Everyone needs someone to tell them when to take a break, hahaha. And she's such a sweetheart. She's been a joy to have around.

  2. Awww! What a sweet kitty!

Many of we Typospherians like cats, for some reason.

Yours is a real beauty, and she will be a great help in your writing endeavors in November, I am quite sure.

Expect my ICI correspondence soon! Just dropped it in the mail. I look forward to hearing from YOU.

I hate Captcha too, but reluctantly agree with you...am thinking of turning it back on, myself, as my spam is increasing...it's not THAT bad, folks.

Lots of people (including me) leave comments on Robert Messenger's blog and on Vintage Technology obsessions, which both have Captcha enabled, so it's not that big of a deal. I'll still comment on your blog!

  3. Just wait 'til your cat starts poking her head into your typewriters. My poor, naive cat still gets the occasional twack to the head if I don't realize he's poked his head too far.

  4. I thought you must have been off on some airship engaging in a steampunk adventure. With a typewriter by your side to record it all. Nice kitten. Our cat suffered a nasty cut on one of her hind legs on Monday afternoon. A trip to the animal hospital, two surgical staples and $283.oo later (ouch!!!), and she's moping around the house, but making good progress.

  5. Cats will always find the strangest places to take over, lay down and sleep. Neat kitten. I am not a cat person although I had one for a few years and became rather attached to the little fur ball.

I can understand the captcha however I hate them and the blogs that have them may / may not get my comments since I still comment but after 3 or 4 unreadable or accepted captachas I quit.

I have them off for about 4 months now on my blog and not a single bogus comment or any spam.

  6. Very very cute cat!

I, too, am unsure how often I will be able to post to my blog once Nano starts. I will try, of course, but with all of the overtime I have been working, I am not even sure I will be able to keep up with Nano! Good luck with your novel.

I have had captcha disabled for a bit now, and haven't had any problems yet. However, when I disabled it before I was receiving a good bit of spam. Understandable? Yes. A pain? Yes. But, as it has been mentioned, there are a few blogs out there that still have it, and I comment nonetheless.

  8. Cute weapon you got there! Hahahahahaha. And like you, I'll be gone for the month of November too, for the NaNo quest will begin! I wishes you well in this endeavor!
